This is the shopping street spreading out in front of JR Kamo Station, the gateway to Kamo City, also known as the Little Kyoto of Hokuetsu. Old-fashioned eateries and Japanese sweet shops line the street, giving off a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for the start of your trip. Since the area gets busier from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, it's best to walk through it during the day first to get a feel for Kamo.
Tips
A short walk from JR Kamo Station. Restaurants can get crowded around lunchtime, so an earlier visit is recommended. You can also walk from here to Aomi Shrine afterward.

About 1 hour. Morning through early afternoon tends to be relatively quiet for walking.
