About this spot

This park is laid out on a hilltop said to be the site of a medieval samurai residence, and traces of earthen ramparts and moats still remain in the terrain today. The park has playground equipment and open plazas, making it a wonderful spot to enjoy both a historical stroll and a play area for children. Surrounded by trees, the quiet setting also lets you escape the summer sun. It's a fitting place to start an afternoon before the fireworks festival, blending history and nature in a way unique to Ayase City.

Tips

About 10 minutes by bus from Sagamino Station on the Odakyu and Sotetsu lines. Parking is limited, so on crowded days public transportation is recommended. It's about a 10-minute drive to the next stop, Ayase Sports Park.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. With plenty of shade, it's comfortable even during summer daytime hours
