About this spot

A few minutes' walk from the east exit of JR Katsuta Station, this is a 48-space parking lot within the Omotecho shopping street. It is operated by the local Hitachinaka Machizukuri Co., Ltd. (ひたちなかまちづくり株式会社) for shopping street visitors, and the company also works on community projects such as 'Katsuta TAMARIBA Yokocho' (勝田TAMARIBA横丁) to liven up the town. Leave your car here and fuel up before the fireworks at one of the nearby eateries. This is the last chance for a relaxed meal, so it's recommended to eat early.

Tips

About a 15-minute drive from Ajigaura Beach. On the day of the fireworks festival, the area in front of the station also gets crowded from evening onward, so arriving between 5 and 6 PM is recommended. Vehicle restrictions may be in place around the venue, so it's safer to use public transportation.
