About this spot

This is a representative roadside station of Saikai City, marked by its unique dome-shaped building shaped like an orange (mikan). It offers a rich lineup of fresh local vegetables, fruit, seafood, and souvenirs, making it an enjoyable stop for the whole family just to browse. Saikai City is also known as a citrus-growing region, and depending on the season, you can sample locally grown citrus fruits. It's also close to Ōseto, where the fireworks festival takes place, making it a perfect starting point for the course.

Tips

Located along National Route 202 with ample parking. It can get crowded in summer, so a morning visit is recommended. It's about a 15-minute drive to the next stop, Yukiura Beach Park (雪浦海浜公園).

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. From morning to midday tends to be relatively uncrowded.
