About this spot

This is a historic strolling-pond garden connected to the Gotō clan, who once governed the land of Tomie. The quiet scenery created by well-tended trees and a pond retains the rare atmosphere of a feudal-lord garden, uncommon even within the Gotō Islands. Even in the summer sun, the shade is pleasant, making it a spot where families can stroll leisurely. It's also close to the venue of the Tomie Festival, making it a calm, fitting way to start the course.

Tips

About a 20-minute drive from Fukue Port (福江港). The garden has some unpaved paths, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. It's about a 10-minute drive to the next stop, Tarōjima Beach (多郎島海水浴場).

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. With plenty of shade, it's a relatively comfortable time to visit even during summer daytime.
