About this spot

This is a shop and café in the town of Tomie, converted from a roughly 140-year-old vacant house. Born through the cooperation of many people, including crowdfunding, it has become a place connecting island life with visitors. Alongside meals made generously with local ingredients, you can also buy handmade goods and Gotō souvenirs. As evening falls, festival food stalls line up around nearby Tomie Elementary School, so secure a viewing spot and wait for the 50th edition of the fireworks to begin.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from Tomie Port (富江港). The festival runs from 17:00 to 20:30, and the fireworks launch from 21:00 to 21:30. The area around the venue gets crowded from evening onward, so arriving early is recommended.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The festival atmosphere builds from evening into the night.
