An area that flourished as the post-town "Fujieda-shuku" (藤枝宿) on the Tokaido route during the Edo period, with traditional storehouses and long-established wagashi shops scattered throughout that convey the character of that era. The appeal is being able to casually enjoy the town streets while eating local favorites and light snacks. On the festival day, crowds increase from evening onward, so it's recommended to take your time walking here during this hour.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from the Fujieda Municipal Museum. Parking is limited, so consider using public transportation. After evening, roads around Rengeji-ike Park become congested, so allow extra time for travel.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Early evening when it becomes cooler is easier for walking.
