Kuroiso Station (黒磯駅), the central station of Nasushiobara City on the JR Utsunomiya Line, is known for its charming wooden station building that retains the atmosphere of the Meiji era. In recent years, a station revitalization project has brought more select shops and cafés to the surrounding area, making it a beloved strolling district where retro and modern blend together. A leisurely walk along the quiet street in front of the station lets you feel the laid-back atmosphere typical of Nasushiobara. It's the perfect spot to relax and start your day before heading to the fireworks festival.

Tips

This is the area right in front of JR Kuroiso Station (黒磯駅). Use one of the coin-operated parking lots around the station. You can walk to the next stop, Kuroiso Park (黒磯公園).

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The quiet hours from morning to early afternoon are easiest for strolling.
