Historic stone walls from the Sengoku and Edo periods

About this spot

This is the site of a castle built by the Kanbe Clan during the Sengoku period and where the Kanbe Domain's administrative center was located during the Edo period. Today only the castle's foundation and parts of its stone walls remain, but their quiet presence within the grounds of a local elementary school and shrine hints at the castle's former grandeur. Located in central Suzuka yet retaining a calm atmosphere, it's a beloved historical walking spot for locals. Take time to observe the stone wall construction methods and immerse yourself in Suzuka's history as a castle town.
