This area preserves the streetscape of Kobe's former foreign settlement, which developed after the opening of the port. Solid Western-style stone buildings now house shops and cafes, offering a modern yet historical walk. The grid-like street layout makes it easy to explore, and walking these paths gives you a sense of how Kobe developed as a port city—the perfect starting point for your day.

Tips

About 5 minutes on foot from Motomachi Station. In summer, stick to the shade along buildings to avoid the intense sun.

Takes about 50 minutes. Morning to midday offers the most pleasant walking conditions.
