Kanjoji, a historic temple located mid-way up Kabutoyama, has long been revered as a spiritual place for purification. From its grounds, you can also overlook Nishinomiya's cityscape. In the quiet, tree-surrounded atmosphere, it's a perfect place to center yourself before the summer festival at Monoji Yakujin. As another temple sharing the 'purification' faith, visiting both offers an interesting contrast.

西宮市の門戸厄神 東光寺で営まれる「厄神夏まつり」です。2026年は8月19日(水)17時から20時30分までの開催で、日本三大厄神のひとつにも数えられる古刹の境内が、夏祭りの灯りと参拝客のにぎわいに包まれます。古くから厄除けの霊場として親しまれてきたこの寺で、家族の健康を願いながら祭りの熱気を味わうひとときです。昼間に訪れた甲山森林公園の自然や神呪寺の静けさとは異なる、夜ならではのにぎわいを楽しんでください。

祭り当日は境内周辺が混み合うことがあります。公共交通機関の利用が安心です。夜は虫が出やすいので虫除け対策を。荒天時の開催可否は寺の公式情報で確認しましょう。
Tips
You can drive from Kabutoyama Forest Park. The approach path has slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. In summer, choosing shaded tree-lined routes is more comfortable.

Approximately 50 minutes. Visiting in the peaceful afternoon hours is recommended.
