The mikoshi parade is a major highlight of Choshi's summer 'Minato Festival'. On August 9, 2026, portable shrines depart from Choshiko Shrine, pass through Shirohata Shrine, and continue through the area around Choshi City Hall, enlivening the port town with spirited shouts. Enjoy this vibrant portable shrine procession, unique to the easternmost port town of Kanto, as the grand finale of a day spent exploring the lighthouse, cliffs, and retro townscape.
