Explore the unique rock formations carved by the Arakawa River

About this spot

This is Nagatoro's premier scenic spot, featuring unique rock formations carved by the Arakawa River over millennia, resembling tatami mats laid side by side. Designated as a National Natural Monument, it is geologically invaluable. Walking on the rocks while listening to the river's murmur and feeling the cool breeze offers respite from summer heat. As this is where the river's lanterns will later be set afloat during the festival, be sure to take in these daytime river views.

Fireworks details

Name:

Date & time: 8/15 (Sat) 17:10–20:45

Venue:

Tips
