A dike path along the Ara River, famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot but beloved in summer for its lush greenery and refreshing river breeze. Walking through the open landscape, you'll feel the cooling river wind amid the heat. Close to Hoshi-kawa Street where the festival takes place, it's an ideal final peaceful spot before the afternoon festivities.

「日本一暑いまち」として知られる熊谷市の星川通りを会場に、2026年8月16日14時から21時まで開催される夏祭りです。水かけ祭りでは子どもたちが元気よく水をかけ合い、真夏の暑さを吹き飛ばすような賑やかな時間が流れます。夜になると同じ会場で納涼盆踊り大会も行われ、昼の元気な水かけの熱気から一転、盆踊りのゆったりとした夏の夜の情緒を味わえます。ひとつの会場で1日を通してまったく違う二つの表情を楽しめるのが、この祭りの大きな魅力です。
Tips
水かけ祭りに参加する場合は濡れてもよい服装か、着替えを準備しておきましょう。真夏の日中は熱中症対策として日陰での休憩とこまめな水分補給を心がけてください。夜は気温が下がることもあるため、羽織ものがあると安心です。

The dike offers little shade, so wear a hat or parasol and drink water frequently during hot hours. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
