Handmade lanterns line the eaves of townhouses that continue from the Edo period, and the soft light unlike electric lamps illuminates the old townscape in an enchanting way. Throughout the venue, food stalls and shrine fair booths are set up, allowing you to enjoy the quiet and atmospheric evening of the temple town, different from daytime.

The alleys of the townhouses are narrow, so please walk slowly and considerately. Some areas are dark, so care is especially needed when accompanied by small children. The area is within walking distance from Kintetsu Tondabayashi Station, making public transportation convenient.

Best time to visit

Immediately after the 6:30 PM lighting, the lantern light stands out beautifully. After 7 PM when darkness is complete, the entire townscape is enveloped in an enchanting atmosphere.
