There is no parking available at the venue, so it's best to arrive by public transportation, such as a bus from Gifu Station. Some areas of the temple grounds are dark underfoot at night, so wear comfortable walking shoes. It's convenient to bring plenty of small change for shopping at the food stalls. The festival runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the lanterns lit starting around 7:00 PM. After 7:30 PM, once it's fully dark, is when the lantern light feels most beautiful
