Built on the former site of Hanamaki Castle, which once governed the Hanamaki area, this park quietly preserves stone walls and earthen ramparts from that era amid its greenery. Known as a popular cherry-blossom spot, it also becomes a beloved place of respite for locals from summer through autumn, when the trees offer cool, pleasant shade. With a spacious lawn as well, it's a perfect spot for families to spend a relaxed moment together before the festival.
Tips
About 10 minutes by bus or taxi from JR Hanamaki Station. The park has some uneven terrain, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
