A museum that introduces the history and techniques of 'tatara steelmaking,' a traditional steelmaking method passed down for centuries in the Izumo region. Through exhibits of the unique manufacturing process that creates steel from iron sand and displays of tamahagane steel used in Japanese swords, you can understand why this region has been called 'the land of steel.' Full-scale models and tool displays are easy for children to understand, making it a place where you can deepen your understanding of Yassugi's industrial history.

やすぎ月の輪まつりは、安来市の中心・安来町地内から安来港周辺にかけて開かれる、地域を挙げての夏祭りです。2026年は8月14日から17日までの4日間開催され、港の周辺には露店や催しが並び、夜には祭りの名の由来ともなる月の輪をイメージした灯りが飾られます。安来節やどじょうすくい踊りの披露が行われることもあり、昼間に予習した安来の伝統芸能を、夜の祭り会場でも改めて楽しめるのが魅力です。港町ならではの穏やかな夜風の中、地域の人々と一体になって夏の夜を過ごせます。

会場周辺は夜になると交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認してください。

About 10 minutes by car from the Yassugi Bushi Performing Arts Hall. Admission is required. The exhibits are compactly arranged in the building, making it easy to view even in a short time.
