The 2026 Nakano Station Front Great Bon Odori Festival is held on August 1-2, from 10 AM to 9 PM, at Shiki-no-mori Park within Nakano Central Park. Spanning an entire day from morning to night, the daytime is relatively relaxed, while from evening onward, the open plaza illuminated by lanterns fills with the energy of people dancing in circles. August 1st, as the opening day, is the perfect finale to a day spent exploring Nakano's streets, offering Bon Odori enjoyment befitting an open park.

Tips

The large park has some areas with limited shade. If visiting during the day, prepare sun protection. The crowd increases from evening onward, so arrive early if you want a good viewing spot. It's just a few minutes' walk from Nakano Station.

Best time to visit

10 AM to 9 PM. From 6 PM onward, when the lanterns are lit, is when the festivities reach their peak.
