About this spot

This beach spreads out near Sonai village in the northwestern part of Iriomote Island. Unlike the large, bustling beaches found at popular tourist spots, this is a quiet shore right alongside the daily life of the village, where you can spend relaxed island time gazing at the calm sea. In the afternoon before the Harvest Festival, it's the perfect place to spend a peaceful moment by the sea ahead of the celebration.

Tips

Since this beach is close to the village's daily living spaces, please be mindful of manners and keep noise down. There is little shade, so don't forget sun protection such as a hat.
