A waterfall about 12 meters high located deep in the Ichijodani valley, known by legend as the place where the famous swordsman Sasaki Kojirou developed his sword technique. The sound of water echoing through the verdant valley is perfect for cooling off your heated body after ruins exploration. 戦国大名・朝倉氏が5代103年にわたって越前を治めた城下町の跡地で行われる、地域を挙げての夏祭りです。国の特別史跡に指定される広大な遺跡一帯を会場に、戦国時代の雰囲気を思わせる催しが繰り広げられ、夕暮れとともに谷あいの景色が祭りの熱気に染まっていきます。実際の史跡の中で祭りを体感できるのはこの一乗谷ならではの魅力で、歴史好きの子どもにとっても忘れられない夜になるはずです。
Tips
遺跡内は足場が悪い箇所もあるため、暗くなってからの移動は懐中電灯があると安心です。会場周辺は駐車場が限られるため、公共交通機関やシャトルの利用がおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。

Driving from the restored street is convenient. The ground near the waterfall pool may be wet, so approach carefully in comfortable walking shoes.
