This facility, affectionately known as 'Kagaribi Hall,' presents the history and charm of Nishi Maone Bon Odori, designated as Japan's Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Display exhibits feature the actual haniui costumes worn by dancers and the distinctive woven hats and Hiko-san headwear used to conceal faces, allowing you to understand how the unique ethereal atmosphere is created. Dance video materials are also screened, and viewing these beforehand will deepen your appreciation of the performance you'll witness that evening.

2026年の西馬音内盆踊りは8月16日(日)から18日(火)まで、羽後町中心部を会場に開催されます。阿波おどり、郡上おどりと並んで日本三大盆踊りのひとつに数えられ、国の重要無形民俗文化財にも指定されている由緒ある盆踊りです。編み笠や彦三頭巾で顔を隠した踊り手たちが、かがり火に照らされながら流れるように舞う姿は、他の盆踊りとは一線を画す幽玄な美しさで知られています。日中に会館や道の駅うご端縫いの郷で羽後町の魅力にふれた1日の締めくくりに、この地に700年近く受け継がれてきた踊りをじっくり味わいましょう。

Tips

会場周辺は交通規制がかかり、駐車場も早い時間から混み合います。夜は屋外での立ち見が長くなるため、羽織ものと歩きやすい靴が安心です。荒天時の実施可否は事前に確認しましょう。
