About this spot
The Iioka Gyobumisaki Observatory, the Museum of Light and Wind, is an observation facility standing on the heights of Cape Gyobu at the northern end of Kujukuri Beach. From the observation floor you get a sweeping panorama of the sweeping arc of Kujukuri Beach and the Pacific Ocean, and it is known as a scenic spot chosen among Japan's 100 best sunrise views. The building also has exhibits on wind power generation, so you can learn while enjoying the view, which is another attraction. Taking in the whole sweep of the sea from the heights before sea bathing builds anticipation for the water ahead.

矢指ケ浦海水浴場は旭市椎名内の矢指ケ浦海岸に開設される海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)まで、遊泳時間は9時から16時までとなっています。九十九里浜の北部に位置し、遠浅で波が比較的穏やかなため、小さな子ども連れでも安心して波打ち際での水遊びを楽しめます。開放感のある広い砂浜で、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。
Tips
遊泳時間は16時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。料金や設備の詳細は事前に旭市の公式サイトで確認しておくと安心です。夏の砂浜は熱くなるのでビーチサンダルを忘れずに。

Parking is free and easy to use. The observation deck can be windy, so a jacket is reassuring. The view is especially beautiful in the crisp morning air.
