View art at a museum next to Kiba Park

The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (東京都現代美術館) is one of Japan's leading museums specialising in contemporary art, next to Kiba Park. Besides the permanent collection, a wide variety of special exhibitions is held in its spacious interior, with many displays the whole family can enjoy. There is a kids' space and a library with picture books inside, with thoughtful provision for visitors with small children. A cafe is also attached, so you can view the exhibits at your own pace with breaks along the way. Moving on to Kiba Park is easy, and the appeal is being able to link art and water play in a single day.

木場公園(北園)のじゃぶじゃぶ池は、8月1日から9月30日まで楽しめる無料の水遊び場です。10時から16時までの営業で、12時30分から13時までは休憩時間となっています。浅い水深で作られているため、小さな子どもでも保護者と一緒に安心して遊べます。広い芝生広場も隣接しているので、水遊びの合間にレジャーシートを広げて休憩することもできます。清掃日や雨天、気温が低い日は中止となるため、訪問前の確認がおすすめです。

Tips

休憩時間の12時30分から13時を避けて到着すると、待ち時間なくスムーズに遊べます。着替えやタオルは多めに用意し、日焼け対策も忘れずに行いましょう。

Tips

Crowd levels vary with the exhibition contents, so for popular special exhibitions arriving just after opening is recommended. The interior is laid out to be easy to get around with a stroller.
