Hananuki Gorge (花貫渓谷), spreading through the mountains of Takahagi City, is known as a spot famous for autumn foliage, while in summer its clear mountain stream and green trees bring a sense of coolness. From the Shiomidaki Suspension Bridge (汐見滝吊り橋), you can take in a panoramic view of the water flowing through the gorge and the surrounding greenery, and it is also popular as a walking course. It's the perfect time for the family to walk while feeling the cool mountain air before heading to the sea attractions. The promenade along the gorge is well maintained, so you can enjoy it at a comfortable distance.

Tips

About a 20-minute drive from central Takahagi City. The suspension bridge sways, so hold small children's hands firmly. Insect repellent spray is helpful in summer.

Best time to visit

About 40 minutes. A morning stroll during the cooler hours is recommended.
