Saiku Heian no Mori

In one corner of the Saiku Site, a national historic site spreading across Meiwa Town, this outdoor area holds reconstructed Heian-period government buildings. Full-scale structures let you feel that the Saio princess, who served Ise Grand Shrine in place of the emperor, and the offices that supported her life were once located here. The surroundings are open grassland with wide views, giving children the freedom to run around as much as they like. There are hours when you can go inside the buildings and examine the texture of the pillars and floors up close, a valuable experience. Since you can walk freely outdoors, it is just right as a first stop of the day.

多気郡明和町の「松幸農産これから村水あそび広場」は、まちの駅の敷地内にある夏季限定の水遊びスポットです。バランスストーンやスラックライン、小さなジャングルジムが置かれていて、水に濡れながら体を動かす遊びが自然にできる造りになっています。夏の主役は水をまき散らす『カメキチ君』で、どこから水が飛んでくるかわからない楽しさに、子どもたちの歓声が絶えません。施設の公式LINEショーケースの案内では料金は無料とされています。園内にレストラン・洋菓子店・足湯・動物広場・ぶどう園がそろっているので、休憩も食事も同じ敷地で完結するのが子連れには本当にありがたいところ。遊び疲れたら足湯で体を温めて、そのまま帰路につけます。

開設期間は未発表で、2026年の期間は公式に掲出されていません。料金も含めて、出かける前に現地・電話で確認することをおすすめします。着替える場所と濡れた服を入れる袋は自分で用意しておくと安心です。水をかぶる遊びなので、替えのタオルは人数分より多めに。足湯を使うならフェイスタオルも別に持っていきましょう。

Tips

Viewing is free, and the outdoor area is open to walk around freely. Check the local signage for the hours when the building interiors are open. There is little shade, so a hat and drinks are essential. Kintetsu Saiku Station (斎宮駅) is right nearby, so you can also do this course by train.
