The Itami City Museum of Insects (伊丹市昆虫館) is a facility devoted entirely to insects, located inside Koyaike Park (昆陽池公園). Its greatest attraction is the butterfly greenhouse, where live butterflies fly all year round. They flutter close enough to touch, so even children who dislike bugs find their eyes following them. The specimen and habitat displays are extensive too, making it a perfect place to look for ideas for a summer holiday research project. Being indoors, it also lets you spend the morning cool before the sun gets strong, which fits this day's plan well. The surrounding Koyaike Park has a large pond where waterbirds gather, so even a short walk before or after your visit makes for a change of pace.

兵庫県立西猪名公園ウォーターランドは、およそ10,000平方メートルという広さをもつ、川西市の大きな水遊び施設です。2026年は6月13日(土)から9月23日(水)まで、9:00から17:00まで(入園は16:30まで)開かれ、毎週火曜日は休園になります。ウォーターキャッスル・スライダー・流れゾーンとエリアが分かれているので、小さな子は浅い場所で、体力のついた子はスライダーでと、年齢に合わせた遊び方ができるのが強みです。更衣室・シャワー・授乳室がそろっているため、赤ちゃんを連れていても落ち着いて過ごせます。料金は4歳から69歳が6月・9月は200円、7月・8月は300円、70歳以上は100円、3歳以下は無料です。7月から9月の土日祝には17:30から21:00の夜の部もあり、日中とは違う涼しい時間を過ごすこともできます。

Tips

土日祝とお盆の期間は事前予約制なので、日程が決まったら早めに手続きしてください。入園は16:30までなので、遅くとも16時までには入っておきましょう。更衣室とシャワーがあるので、帰りの着替えは現地で済ませられます。ぬれた水着を入れるビニール袋と、体を冷やさないための羽織ものを一枚用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

Admission is priced separately for adults and children (check the official website for current rates and closing days). The greenhouse is kept warm, so take off jackets before going in. You can use the Koyaike Park parking lot, and Nishiinano Park is about 10 minutes away by car. The exhibits are meant to be viewed quietly, so agreeing in advance not to run helps everyone look around calmly.
