The resthouse inside Asahiyama Memorial Park (旭山記念公園) is a welcome place to settle down before and after water play. You can eat and rest without leaving the grounds, so there is no need to go down into town for lunch. The Sapporo cityscape spreads out beyond the windows, and being able to eat while taking in the view is something only a park on the heights can offer. Resting your body for a while in an air-conditioned space helps you enjoy the afternoon water play right to the end. After the meal, get your change of clothes ready here and head for the Water Plaza.

旭山記念公園水の広場は、札幌市中央区の旭山記念公園にある無料の水遊び場です。例年4月25日(土)から10月31日(土)まで、10:00〜20:00に楽しめます(札幌市の案内は4月下旬〜10月末頃)。水が段々に流れ落ちるカスケードが目を引き、その下の浅い水辺で子どもが自由に遊べる造りになっています。展望広場が隣にあるので、大人はベンチから札幌の街並みを眺めながら見守れるのがこの公園らしい過ごし方です。トイレとレストハウスがそろっているため、着替えも食事も園内で完結します。春から秋までと開設期間が長く、夏休み以外の週末にも計画できるのは他の水遊び場にはない強みです。

Tips

カスケードの石は濡れて滑りやすいので、水遊び用サンダルを履かせてください。高台にあるため夕方は風が冷たくなります。体を拭いたら早めに乾いた服へ着替えましょう。20時まで開いているので、日の長い季節は夕暮れの街あかりを眺めてから帰る計画も立てられます。駐車場は夕方の時間帯に混み合うことがあります。

Tips

Opening hours and the menu change with the season, so check the notices posted on the day. You can also choose to bring a boxed lunch and eat it in the shade of the observation plaza. Restrooms are inside the park and can also be used for changing. As a rule, take your trash home with you.
