The Nopporo Tondencho Park Water Play Area is a free water play spot in Ebetsu. The 2026 opening period has not been announced yet, but in most years the water is filled to match the summer holidays. The water is shallow, so the great appeal is that even children who have only just started walking can dip their feet and play. As the park sits within a residential area it is easy to keep everyone in sight, and adults can spend an unhurried time watching over them from the shade of the trees. Admission is free, so families are glad to be able to let children play as long as they like without watching the clock. In Hokkaido's long summer days it stays bright into the evening, so the play can carry on.

Tips

Opening conditions vary from year to year, so please check this year's period with the Ebetsu city information before you set out. Changing spaces are limited, so putting swimwear on under clothing makes getting ready on site much easier. Shade is mainly under the trees, so on days with strong sunshine a pop-up tent or picnic sheet makes resting easier. The wind can pick up in the evening and chill the body, so bringing an extra layer is reassuring.

Arriving at 13:35 gives about 3 hours, playing until the evening when the sunlight softens.
