Toyohoro Park (豊幌公園) Water Play Area

About this spot

The Toyohoro Park (豊幌公園) Water Play Area is a free water play spot in the Toyohoro district of Ebetsu City. The 2026 opening dates have not been announced yet, but the pool is usually filled in time for the summer school holidays. The water is shallow, so even a child who has only just started walking can dip their feet and play. Toyohoro is a quiet district where fields and sky stretch far in every direction, and the park's greatest advantage is that it does not fill up the way water play areas in built-up areas do. Children can take their time at their own pace, and adults can watch calmly from the shade of the trees. Admission is free, so you can let them play as long as they like without watching the clock, and in Hokkaido's long summer days it stays bright enough to keep playing well into the evening.

Tips

Opening conditions vary from year to year, so check this year's dates in the Ebetsu City information before you leave. There are few shops nearby, so buy drinks and snacks in the town centre on the way. Changing space is limited, so putting swimwear on under clothes makes getting ready on site much easier. In the evening the wind coming across the fields can chill you, so bring an extra layer to be safe.

Best time to visit

Arrive at 13:40 and you have about 2 hours 50 minutes, right through to the softer light of evening.
