Horonishi Bicycle Park has a course laid out for bicycle practice, so children can practice riding safely in a place with no cars. For a child who has just had the training wheels taken off, this environment alone is a huge ally. Once they get the hang of it they can ride lap after lap around the park, and when they tire out you can spread a mat in the shade for a packed lunch. Being able to switch activities within the same park means there is no need to move your luggage. Eat well and rest here in preparation for the afternoon water play.

幌西自転車公園水遊び場は、札幌市中央区の幌西自転車公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は6月29日(月)から8月30日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い水遊び場なので、水を怖がる小さな子でも足をひたすところから慣れていけます。同じ公園に自転車練習コースがあるため、体を動かして汗をかいたあとにそのまま水に入れるという流れが自然につくれるのがこの公園の面白いところです。地元の子どもたちが集まる規模なので行列や待ち時間もなく、自分たちのペースで過ごせます。木陰のベンチから大人が全体を見渡せるのも安心な点です。

Tips

水遊び場の運用は天候によって変わることがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせましょう。自転車は水遊びのあいだ、目の届く場所に停めておくと安心です。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めましょう。

Tips

You need to bring your own bicycle or balance bike. Do not forget helmets either. Follow the on-site signs for the rules on using the course. Shade is limited, so bringing hats and plenty of drinks is wise. As a rule, take your trash home with you.
