Moerenuma Park (モエレ沼公園)
About this spot
Built on the vision of sculptor Isamu Noguchi, this large park is designed so that the entire grounds form a single work of art. The glass-walled Glass Pyramid is indoors, making it a good place to escape the sun and catch your breath. Moere Hill, an artificial hill you climb up grassy slopes, offers a view that takes in Sapporo's cityscape and the wide sky at once, and for children the climb itself becomes play. In summer the Sea Fountain shoots high into the air, and watching the shapes the water forms builds anticipation for the afternoon's water play. The park is vast, so narrowing down your destinations in advance lets you get around without wearing yourselves out.

東苗穂北公園 水遊び場は、札幌市東区の東苗穂北公園に夏だけ現れる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月3日(金)から8月23日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べます。プールのような入れ替えや順番待ちがなく、遊びたいときに入って、疲れたら木陰で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせるのが公園の水遊び場のよさです。近所の子どもたちが集まる場所なので、その日はじめて会った子と自然に遊びだす姿も見られます。午前にモエレ沼公園やさとらんどで歩いたあと、最後に水で締めくくると一日がきれいにまとまります。
Tips
開放は10:00〜16:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室はないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる用意をしておくと安心です。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織る一枚を必ず持っていきましょう。日陰が限られるため、レジャーシートがあると休憩が格段に楽になります。
Tips
The park is enormous, so if you come by car, the trick is to choose the parking lot nearest the spot you want. The Sea Fountain runs on a set schedule, so check the times when you arrive and you won't miss it. Some areas have little shade, so be sure to bring a hat and drinks. Since Moere Hill means climbing a slope, sturdy walking shoes are safer than sandals.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 40 minutes. The morning, before the sun grows strong, is the easiest time for walking
