A district library in Kiyota Ward, easy to drop into since it sits in the center of the ward. The children's section is well organized, and the best part is that children can browse the shelves themselves and choose a book according to their mood that day. Being indoors, it also works well as a cool place to spend the morning before the sun gets strong. Building the day so that summer homework research is finished here before heading off to play changes how satisfying the whole day feels. Starting with quiet time makes the sense of release even greater when they throw themselves into activity in the afternoon.

美しが丘西公園水遊び場は、札幌市清田区の美しが丘西公園に夏だけ現れる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月23日(日)まで、9:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。清田区の水遊び場は7月の第1日曜日から50日間という決まりで開くため、夏休みのあいだ何度でも通えるのがありがたいところ。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べます。入れ替えや順番待ちがなく、遊びたいときに入って疲れたら木陰で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせるのが公園の水遊び場のよさです。近所の子どもたちが集まる場所なので、その日はじめて会った子と一緒に遊びだす姿もよく見られます。

Tips

開放は9:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになる日があるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室はないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる用意をしておきましょう。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織る一枚を必ず持っていってください。住宅街の中の公園なので、行き帰りの道では車に十分注意してください。

Tips

Check the opening hours and closed days in advance. Eating and drinking are restricted inside, so have drinks outside. Carrying borrowed books around all day adds weight, so leave them in the car or plan to stop by on the way home to stay light. Using the restroom before moving on gives peace of mind.
