The Toyooka Third Park Wading Pool (豊岡第3公園 徒渉池) is a shallow water-play area that opens in Toyooka Third Park in Asahikawa City (旭川市) only during the summer. In 2026 it is open from Monday, June 1 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 17:00, and use is free. The water is shallow, so even a child who has only just started walking can stand and move around on their own feet, which is reassuring. There is no water changeover or waiting in line as at a swimming pool, so you can spend the time following a child's own rhythm of getting in, playing, getting out and resting. Because it is a park inside a residential area, children naturally mix in and start playing with the local kids, and that is time unique to this place. Playing until evening and then heading straight home is a distance that fits an everyday outing well.

Opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00. It may be closed due to bad weather, cleaning or water-quality management, so check the Asahikawa City notice for that day before you set out. Assume that no changing rooms are provided: wear swimwear under your clothes, or bring a wrap towel so you can change. Shade is limited, so a picnic sheet and a hat make breaks easier. Do not forget a light layer to put on after getting out, even in a Hokkaido summer.

If you arrive at 14:20 you can play until the sunlight softens and enjoy it fully until the 17:00 close
