Hondoji Temple (本土寺)
About this spot
This is an old temple in Hiraga, Matsudo, notable for its long approach and spacious precincts. It is known as a spot for hydrangeas and autumn foliage, but in summer the greenery is dense, and you can feel the air change simply by walking among the trees. The temple halls are laid out with plenty of space, so walking with children never feels rushed. There are ponds and shaded benches in the precincts, so being able to go around with rests along the way is helpful too. There are no flashy attractions, but spending quiet time here settles the rest of the day.
