This is the Splash Pond at Saitama Children's Zoo (埼玉県こども動物自然公園) in Higashimatsuyama City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Friday, September 11, from 9:30 to 16:00 (excluding Mondays, when the park is closed). On some days the water is not filled depending on weather and temperature, so checking the day's status is essential. The Splash Pond is free, but separate admission applies: 900 yen for adults, 200 yen for elementary and junior high students, and free for preschoolers. There is a shop right nearby where you can buy ice cream and light meals, which helps for topping up while you play. It is a water play spot only a zoo could offer, where children can plunge into the water still buzzing from seeing the animals.

Tips

On some days the water is not filled depending on weather and temperature, so check the park's official website for the day's operation before setting out. Note too that the park is closed on Mondays. After water play, wash feet well at the taps and take breaks in the shade as you play. For children not yet out of diapers, please bring swim diapers. Closing is at 16:00, so starting to pack up around 15:30 lets you head home with time to spare.
