About this spot

This is Tawaramoto Town's roadside station, built along the national highway right next to the Karako-Kagi Ruins (唐古・鍵遺跡). The direct-sales corner, stocked with vegetables, fruit, and processed goods brought in by local farmers, changes with the seasons, so even adults never get tired of browsing. There is a place to eat, so finishing lunch here before the water play makes the afternoon easier to get moving. From the rooftop you can look out over the Karako-Kagi Ruins tower and the surrounding farmland, and it is interesting to check out from above the place you walked through in the morning. You can also stock up here on drinks, snacks, and any daily necessities you are missing.

Tips

The restaurant area gets crowded around noon on weekends and holidays, so going in during the latter half of the 11 o'clock hour, or shifting to around 1pm, will shorten your wait. Vegetables at the direct-sales corner can run low after midday, so if shopping is your goal, earlier is better. Suisen no Oka is about a 10-minute drive from here, so use this stop to check whether you are missing any change of clothes or towels.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Going in during the first half of the noon hour gives you more room, both for seating and selection.
