About this spot

The Shinmachi district of Tomiya City is where a post town on the Oshu Kaido (奥州街道) stood during the Edo period. Old buildings and storehouses are still scattered about, and just one street off the main road the character of the town changes. There is a sake brewery that has continued here since long ago, among the oldest in Miyagi Prefecture, and simply looking at its frontage from outside conveys the depth of history. The distance is not long, so it is just the right scale for a family to walk slowly in the morning. The scenery contrasts with the newly developed Narita district, giving you something to talk about with your children regarding differences within the same city.

宮城県富谷市の「成田せせらぎ緑道小川の水遊び場」です。緑道は成田5丁目から7丁目まで続いていて、その中を小川が流れ、ところどころに広場や噴水が設けられています。歩きながら遊び場を選べる造りなので、混んでいる場所を避けたり、日陰の多い区間に移ったりと、その日の状況に合わせて過ごし方を変えられるのが大きな利点です。約1,500本の樹木が植えられており、夏でも木陰が続くため休憩の場所に困りません。歩道が車道と分かれているので、小さな子を連れていても安心して移動できます。利用は無料なので、夕方に少しだけ涼みに立ち寄る使い方もできます。

開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間の運用です。出かける前に富谷市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。緑道沿いは住宅が近いので、大きな声や水のかけ合いはまわりに配慮して楽しみましょう。売店やトイレは限られるため、飲み物は事前に用意し、トイレの位置を到着時に確認しておくと安心です。水深は浅くても目を離さず、大人が必ず付き添ってください。石や側壁は濡れると滑りやすいので、足を守れるマリンシューズがあると安心です。樹木が多いぶん蚊が出やすいため、虫よけを持参してください。
