Koigahama Kunai Park (Koigahama Green Park) Pufferfish Mist
About this spot
The Koigahama Kunai Park (Koigahama Green Park) Pufferfish Mist is a water-play feature in Koigahama Kunai Park in Kudamatsu City. It sits in the toddler area (for ages 3 to 6) of the playground, where mist sprays from the mouth and belly of a pufferfish set in rubber-chip paving. You do not get soaking wet, so it is a gentle water-play spot where even small children who are afraid of water can come closer at their own pace. On March 23, 2025 it reopened as an inclusive park, with a 5.1-hectare site, a 10,000-square-meter lawn plaza, and 11 pieces of play equipment with 62 items in a 1,000-square-meter playground. The park is open 24 hours and free to use, so you can also drop in only in the evening when the heat eases.
Tips
Kudamatsu City does not publish the operating period or hours of the mist. Please contact the management building (0833-30-0095) to check before you set out. The rubber-chip paving can get hot during summer days, so footwear that protects the feet is reassuring. Shade on the lawn plaza is limited, so bring a picnic sheet and hats and take breaks. Bring a change of clothes and a towel for each person, and drying off before returning to the car makes the ride home more comfortable.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours 45 minutes. After 15:00, when the sun softens, is an especially pleasant time
