The Donguri Park Wading Pool (children's pool), a free water-play area in Donguri Park (Fukumitsu-nishi 1-16-3) in the Nagara-nishi district of Gifu City. In 2026 it is open on a total of 31 days between July 22 and August 30, from 13:00 to 16:00. Because it is open on many days, it is easy to pick a date that fits your summer-vacation schedule. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk on their own feet and get used to the water. Use is in principle limited to children in third grade of elementary school and below; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet toilet-trained may not use the pool. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool closes.

Tips

Use is free. You can check whether it is open that day by the flag on site (a red flag means it is closed). Wearing swimsuits under clothes makes changing on site smoother. The ground gets hot, so water sandals help protect feet. It closes at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.
