The Shiragiku Park Wading Pool (children's pool), a free water-play area in Shiragiku Park (Shiragikucho 6-29) in the Shima district of Gifu City. In 2026 it is open on a total of 9 days between July 22 and July 31, from 13:00 to 16:00. Because the opening days are few, this is a water-play spot to plan for in the first half of the summer holidays. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk on their own feet and get used to the water. Use is in principle limited to children in third grade of elementary school and below; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants who are not yet toilet-trained may not use the pool. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the pool closes.

Tips

Use is free. Opening days are limited, so always confirm on the Gifu City schedule that your date is an opening day before setting out. On site, a red flag is the sign that it is closed. Wearing swimsuits under clothes makes changing smoother. Shade is limited, so bring a picnic sheet and plenty of drinks. It closes at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.
