Kikusui Spring (菊水泉)

About this spot

A shrine on the way down from Yoro Falls, whose grounds hold Kikusui Spring, known as one of Japan's fine waters. Clear water overflows endlessly from between the stonework, a sight children never tire of peering into. This very spring is said to be where sake welled up in the Yoro filial-son legend, and it also lies behind the origin of the place name Yoro. Surrounded by trees, the grounds are cool and just right for resting a body that has climbed to the falls. It is a short but memorable stop that lets you feel Yoro as a village of water.

養老郡養老町の養老公園内にある無料の水遊び場「養老公園岐阜県こどもの国こどもプール・ふんすい」です。300平方メートルのひょうたん型こどもプールは2026年8月1日(土)から8月31日(月)まで開設され、水深30cmの幼児用と水深60cmの小学校低学年用に分かれています。対象はおむつのとれた子から小学3年生までなので、年齢と発達に合わせて安心して遊ばせられます。なかよしひろばの「ふんすい」エリアは7月4日からオープンするため、プール開設前の7月でも水にふれる遊びが楽しめます。園内には大型遊具もそろっていて、水にあきたら遊具へ、疲れたら木陰でひと休みと自由に行き来できるのがこの場所の良さ。入園が無料なので、午前の滝歩きと合わせても1日の出費を抑えられます。

Tips

こどもプールはおむつのとれた子から小学3年生までが対象で、おむつが必要な子は利用できません。7月中はプールが開いていないため、なかよしひろばのふんすいで遊ぶ計画にしてください。開設時間や当日の実施は公式サイトと現地の掲示で確認しましょう。入園は無料ですが駐車場は有料なので、小銭を用意しておくと安心です。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけるとスムーズです。日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートと帽子、多めの飲み物を忘れずに。
