Sugekari Park (菅刈公園)

About this spot

Located in Aobadai, Meguro City (目黒区青葉台), this park makes use of land where Saigo Tsugumichi (西郷従道) had his residence in the Meiji era. Inside is a Japanese garden arranged around a pond and a stream, with a stillness you would not expect in central Tokyo (東京). The traditional Japanese hall is a good place to rest while looking out over the garden, and families with small children can relax without feeling on edge. There is also a lawn area, so children can run around a little after the garden walk. It sits close to the promenade along the Meguro River (目黒川), which makes it easy to continue on foot toward the Nakameguro (中目黒) area.

中町せせらぎ緑地公園じゃぶじゃぶ池・流れは、目黒区の中町せせらぎ緑地公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年の稼働期間は7/1(水)から9/30(水)まで、時間は9:00〜16:30で、区の公式表記は「7月第1週から9月末頃まで」となっています。水は塩素等で消毒管理されているので安心して足を入れられます。名前のとおり細長い緑地に沿ってせせらぎが続く形で、水深が浅く、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩けます。住宅街の中にある地域密着型の水遊び場で、大きな施設のような混雑がないのも家族連れにはうれしいところです。料金は無料なので、天気を見て気軽に出かけられます。

Tips

月1回ほど点検日があり、その日は利用できません。点検日時は現地に掲示されるため、出発前に区の公式ページで開設状況を確認してください。飲食物の持込とペットの入水はできません。水遊び用サンダルの着用が推奨されているので、かかとの留まるタイプを用意しましょう。日陰は限られるので、休憩用の大きめのタオルや帽子を忘れずに。

Tips

Check the official information for the opening hours and closed days of the Japanese hall. The garden section has stone steps and stepping stones, so remind children not to run. Strollers enter more easily from the lawn side. Vending machines in the park are limited, so bringing your own drinks is safest.
