Akatsuka Park Splash Pond is a free water-play spot at Akatsuka Park in Itabashi City. In 2026, the season runs from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, September 30, with hours of 10:00-15:30. The pond is built shallow, so it's a depth even small children can walk around in on their own feet, making it easy for parents to keep watch. Since the park runs along the escarpment of the Musashino Plateau, wooded slopes are just a short walk away, giving an advantage of easily finding shade even on days with strong sun. Admission is free, and there are restrooms in the park. You cannot enter the water wearing shoes, so prepare water-play sandals or be ready to go in barefoot.

Best time to visit

Entering from 13:20 lets you play well through to the 15:30 closing time, during the hours when the sun eases off.
