The Palette Fountain at Takashimadaira Green Space (Takashimadaira 9-chome area) is a free water-play spot set up temporarily as a social experiment ahead of the green space's redevelopment. In 2026, it runs from Saturday, July 25 to Saturday, August 29, operating only on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM. The fountain sits in a plaza laid with artificial turf, and the unique comfort of this spot is being able to run around without worrying about mud splashing up. Staff are always on hand in the trailer house, giving you peace of mind if you need help. On some days a kitchen car sets up shop, letting you pick up drinks or snacks between rounds of play. Since it's only installed for a limited time, it's worth a visit for this summer-only scenery.

Closed on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16. Since it operates only on weekends and for a short window of 10 AM to 3 PM, be sure to check the Itabashi Ward official page for that day's operating status before heading out. Artificial turf gets slippery when wet, so have kids wear sandals with a heel strap. Shade is limited, so bringing a sunshade or leisure sheet will make breaks more comfortable. A kitchen car doesn't come every day, so it's reassuring to bring your own drinks as well.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 15 minutes. From the 1 PM hour on, heading toward the 3 PM close, is when kids can play most freely.
