Ayabe City Municipal Pool is a municipal outdoor pool open from 10:00 to 18:00, from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31 in 2026. It offers three separate pools -- an 8-lane 50m x 17m pool (maximum depth 1.4m), an 8-lane 25m x 17m pool (maximum depth 1.3m), and a 25m x 10m children's pool with a water depth of 40cm -- so every member of the family can enjoy the water in their own way. That means an older child can swim hard in the 50m pool while a younger one gets used to the water in the shallow children's pool, all in the same place. Admission is affordable -- 300 yen for high school students and up, 200 yen for junior high school students, and 150 yen for elementary school students and under -- with group discounts also available. Since it's open until 18:00, you can also enjoy a relaxed swim into the evening hours, once the sunlight has softened, which is one of this pool's special appeals.
