About this spot

This castle stands atop a hill in Kururi, Kimitsu City, just a short drive from the town center. The climb from the parking lot to the castle tower goes up a slope and stone steps, giving you a taste of a mini mountain hike. From the tower's observation point, the Boso mountain range and the Kururi settlement spread out below, with a cool breeze passing through. An attached museum introduces the castle's history and doubles as a place to take shelter from rain or cool off. Since the path runs through a wooded area, you can climb while avoiding direct sunlight even in midsummer.

Tips

Strollers aren't suitable due to the stone steps; a baby carrier or a child who can walk is recommended. Check the opening days and hours in advance. Bring insect repellent and drinks, and climb while it's still cool in the morning for a comfortable visit.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. Climb up during the cool morning hours.
