The Etajima Elementary School Pool (Summer Break Public Opening) is an initiative that opens an elementary school pool in Etajima City to the community during summer break. In 2026 it runs from Tuesday, July 21 to Friday, August 7, offering free use of both the 25m pool and the small children's pool. There's no elaborate play equipment, but it has the familiar charm unique to a school pool, and swimming alongside the island's local children is an experience you won't find on an ordinary trip. For kids who take swimming lessons, it's a chance to challenge themselves to swim laps of the 25m pool; for younger kids, the small pool is a good place to get used to the water. The pool is closed every Saturday and Sunday and on August 6, with make-up opening days on August 10 and 11.
