A forest park in Nomi-cho, Etajima City, with a walking trail maintained up near the summit. From the observation deck, you can take in a sweeping view of the islands dotting the Seto Inland Sea, and the layered silhouettes of the islands offer the quiet beauty typical of the Seto Inland Sea. The path through the trees lets you take a short stroll while breathing in the mountain air. The higher elevation lets the breeze pass through, making it feel refreshingly cooler than at the foot of the mountain. It's also close to the Mutsu Memorial Museum you visited in the morning, so you can get around with just travel within the island.
Tips
You can drive most of the way up near the summit, but there are narrow stretches of road, so drive carefully. The path to the observation deck involves walking up a slope, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Insect repellent is handy. Restrooms are limited, so be sure to go beforehand.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. On clear days you can see all the way to distant islands
