Next stop: A free city pool. A 50m x 7-lane pool plus pools for young elementary schoolers and toddlersAbout this spot
A floodplain park along the Kiso River in Sobue-cho, Inazawa City. This area is known for its sandy terrain, and the wide open space along the river gives an openness like the seaside, even though you're inland. There's a plaza with play equipment and a grassy area where kids can run around freely. Across the river, the scenery on the Gifu side stretches out, and the breeze crossing the water feels refreshing. In keeping with this course's pace, it's best to stick to the shade and wrap up at a moderate point rather than overdoing it, since the pool comes later in the afternoon.
Tips
Being a floodplain, there's little shade, so a hat and drinks are essential. Access may be restricted after heavy rain raises water levels, so check conditions before heading out following a downpour. The park is large, so it helps to look up parking near the plaza with the play equipment in advance to avoid too much walking. It's a good idea to have lunch early, on the way between stops.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 10 minutes. The morning hours, with a breeze off the river, stay comfortable even in the sun
